Mobile Activities:
- N5WR/m
tentatively planning to come to Alabama to operate ALQP as a mobile. It will be my first attempt at mobile contesting. I will be operating single op, no driver, mostly CW but maybe also some SSB. I am planning to activate the following counties: 1. Clay, 2. Tallapoosa, 3. Chambers, 4. Randolph, 5. Cleburne, 6. Calhoun, 7. Talladega, 8. St. Clair, 9. Etowah, 10. Cherokee, 11. De Kalb, 12. Marshall, 13. Jackson. - W4AUB/m
I may also try to operate mobile as well during a portion of the contest from adjacent counties of Clay and Randolph,... possibly more. I plan to work both SSB and CW. Randy/W4AUB - NF4A/m
Charlie has indicated that if work does not get in the way, that perhap he will come and operate in the AQP this year. - N4PN/m
Paul has indicated that he will be mobile. - KY5R/m
I too may be /M for AQP. Working on antenna/tuner installing in 32ft Class C RV with an IC-7000. If I get it up and running will be SSB mainly. It will be a "grand experiment" for sure. - K4EXT/m and KG4VBK/m
Gary and his son Justin. We thinks we've finalized a new route for AQP - subject to change for whatever excuse I can think of at the time! Our new official AQP 2009 order of counties: 01-Geneva, 02-Coffee, 03-Covington, 04-Crenshaw, 05-Butler, 06-Montgomery, 07-Bullock. 08-Pike, 09-Barbour, 10-Dale. Possibilities of jogging around a little bit to also catch Henry and Houston. All depends on how I feel. Once we return home, we will likely run Dale County at night on 80m from our driveway ...I still need a bunch of Alabama counties for myself!
- K4ACG/m Tom (K4ZGB) will be using the Alabama Contest Group club call for his planned route (if driver doesn't change her mind) to: 1. Winston 2. Walker 3. Marion 4. Fayette 5. Lamar 6. Pickens 7. Tuscaloosa 8. Bibb 9. Jefferson 10. Shelby 11. Chilton 12. Coosa 13. Autauga 14. Elmore 15. Montgomery 16. Lowndes 17. Crenshaw--maybe 18. Butler 19. Conecuh 20. Escambia 21. Baldwin 22. Mobile
- K4NO/m
Still working on my plans, If it happens, it will be 1. Madison, 2. Limestone, 3. Morgan, 4. Cullman, 5. Marshall, 6. Jackson. Plans are to put the 2 KW Honda generator in the back of the truck, make a table to hold the FT-1000 MK V Field with 20, 40 and 75 meter Hamsticks. Will attempt to do some CW but most of the operation will end up SSB. Greg K4NO - NY4N/m
Updated Jun 1st. Looks like Becky and I will be coming back this year as a mobile. Almost all CW. Will hit 40 and 20 meters most of the day. Will have a rig on the 80 m CW call frequency, but will listen only till dark, then call as it gets dark. Will answer CQ's on 80, however... all day. Don't be afraid to put out a call during daylight hours on 80. Will activate the following counties in the order listed. Last two attempts to go mobile bombed, hope my luck changes ! Can adjust the route a little if needed. Hope to see you guys on the air June 6. 1. Madison, 2. Limestone, 3. Morgan, 4. Cullman, 5. Blount, 6. Marshall, 7. Jackson, 8. Dekalb, 9. Cherokee, 10.
